Plans near Barcelona: Sant Ponc Reservoir

The destinations by surprise, those that you do not expect, like the sunset with reddish colors that catches you unexpectedly and you freak out. Well that happened to me this Sunday.

Some very nice friends who took pity on my Sunday loneliness took me to this place. We left home and I didn't really know where I was going, when we were arriving at Cardona, a destination that I recommend for its salt mine, then I realized that it would be a place that I had never even heard of.

The Sant Ponç reservoir is about 40 kilometers from Manresa, 108 km from Barcelona City. Let's say it's not quite close, but taking into account that the swamp is huge, clean and not very crowded, it's a highly recommended destination to enjoy a bit of tranquility.

I have cheated a bit with Lightroom but the camera is not capable of capturing what we see. The water is this turquoise or even more intense as you move away from the dam.

The Sant Ponç reservoir is located in the Solsonès Region, in the Province of Lleida. I'm not going to give you the whole story about this place because I really don't know much about the place. Simply: I went, I liked it, I had a good time and I would definitely visit again.

Exact direction: Pantà de, Sant Ponç, Lleida

The Sant Ponç Reservoir and its turquoise waters

What impressed me the most about this place is the color of the water 😍 A marvel! Literally!

It doesn't look like a swamp... And it's just that none of the swamps I've been to have had, even close, a water so crystal clear For that reason, the quality of the water is that the swamps do not attract much attention to me. But this? Let's see, I'm not saying it's a Canadian lake, however is very pretty… If you don't believe me look at the photos.

Things to do in Pantano de Sant Ponc

the swamp is surrounded by nature what makes it ideal for hiking for its surroundings.

You can also rent a kayak and explore BEST the swamp. We managed to see a small island inside the swamp, so surely you will not be bored.

if there is time, You can also visit the Cardona Salt Mine and learn about its history while you explore and enjoy the galleries of Sal.

Exact direction: Carr. de la Mina, s/n, 08261 Cardona, Spain, Barcelona

Soon I will make a post about this place ♡

We are at the end of August and it seems like yesterday when summer began. However, there are still some long days and good weather ahead to continue exploring and traveling locally and madly 😂 – without too many guides, without too much haste.-
